Intermediate Ceiling

Non-combustible membrane – intermediate ceiling with an area of approx. 10,000 m²

For a large warehouse with a ceiling height of approx. 18 metres (59 ft), the insurance provider demanded a fire sprinkler system. Because the ceiling was too high for the fire sprinkler system to function properly, an intermediate ceiling had to be built in. However, an ordinary intermediate ceiling would have been to heavy.

Planex solved the challenge by means of an intermediate ceiling made of glass fabric supported by steel ropes. Because the intermediate ceiling reduces the effective height of the warehouse, the sprinklers are now able to trigger early enough.
